Fourth of July Fireworks in Brooklyn

If you’re looking for a fun, festive way to spend your Independence Day in NYC, consider checking out the annual fireworks display in New York City. According to the New York Daily News, New York City officials and Macy’s representatives announced earlier this spring that the annual Macy’s Fourth of July fireworks display would be returning to the East River for 2014. The fireworks will be set off the top of the famous Brooklyn Bridge and from barges on the East River. This change of venue promises New Yorkers and NYC visitors better views of the spectacular fireworks, especially for people in Brooklyn and Queens.

The best locations to view the fireworks include Brooklyn Bridge Park, DUMBO waterfront, and the Brooklyn Heights Promenade. Because more than 3 million people are expected in attendance, you may want to consider carpooling with friends or getting a van rental to transport all your family and friends. The online guide NYCGO.com recommends that you plan on arriving at your fireworks location by 5 pm. While the fireworks don’t start until 9 pm, you will want to claim your spot early.

If you plan on renting a vehicle to get to the fireworks display, you will want to do so sooner rather than later. Consider the Empire Rent A Car online reservation option, or call any of our local NYC area locations. Our staff will gladly help you find a rental car to meet your Fourth of July travel needs.
