Are Prepaid Gift Cards Required to Secure a Rental?

Prepaid gift cards are never required to secure a rental from Empire. We do, however, require a deposit and we accept the following forms of payment:

• Debit Card
• Company account
• Visa
• MasterCard
• American Express
• Direct bill (with special approval)

Deposits are collected when making the reservation or at the time of pickup, and are based on the length of the rental and the destination. The deposit is also dependent on the CDW deductible the customer chooses. We are happy to answer any questions regarding the deposit requirements. There is a scam going around right now. How Old Do You Have to Be to Rent?

At Empire, the minimum age to rent a car is 18 years. However, we do have a young driver's fee: renters ages 18-21 must pay an additional $57 per day and ages 22-24 pay an extra $20 per day.

Are Additional Drivers Permitted?

One additional driver can be added to your rental contract for a fee of $5 per day. The additional driver must be at least 23 years of age and is treated the same as the principal driver. The fee will be applied whether or not the additional driver will be driving the vehicle, and an additional driver can not be removed from the contract after the vehicle leaves our office. The person responsible for payment of the rental must be named on the rental contract, and every driver listed is responsible for the vehicle until it is returned.
