Visiting the Brooklyn Botanic Garden

The warm weather, singing birds, and fresh spring breeze are finally here, and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden (BBG) is starting to bloom. Celebrate spring by loading the kids into the van rental and enjoying this natural Brooklyn masterpiece.

The Highlight: Cherry Trees

The cherry trees are the belle of the ball at the BBG. April and May are the peak blooming months, so don’t miss your chance to see these gorgeous blossoms come to life! Our gardens feature hundreds of cherry trees — especially the Cherry Esplanade section. Many people would agree that the Cherry Esplanade is the most gorgeous — and fragrant — area of Brooklyn in the spring.

Get a sneak peak of these beautiful trees.

Don’t Miss These Flowers

Before arriving, make sure to check what plants will be in bloom so you know what to look for. Below are just a few of the flowers that thrive in Aril and May:

  • Azaleas
  • Lilacs
  • Tree Peonies
  • Wisteria
  • Orchids
  • And more

Ready to view a kaleidoscope of colors? BBG is open Tuesdays–Fridays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays–Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and free for children under 12.

The museum has an attended parking lot next to the museum, so it’s easy to park the van or car rental. It isn’t free, so make sure to bring some cash to pay the attendant.
