Visit New York for New Year’s Eve

Fine restaurants, local bars, and friends’ homes are all fantastic spots to welcome in the new year. However, this December consider visiting the world’s ultimate destination: Times Square.

New Year’s Eve Tips

With performances from many of the year’s best singers, the world-renowned 11,875-pound ball, and an unbeatable atmosphere, Times Square is the paramount hub of celebration. Since one million people venture to NY for this festive countdown, below are some tips:

  • Make reservations now. Have you made hotel reservations or bought airplane tickets yet? Planning on booking a car rental or van rental? Do it today! Many hotels are already filled, but you can look into alternative options such as hostels or hotels outside of Times Square.
  • Dress warmly. According to The Weather Channel, the average high on New Year’s in New York is 38 degrees, and the average low is 24 degrees. Since you’ll be outside for several hours, invest in some warm gloves, scarves, and boots.
  • Strategically plan transportation. The massive influx of people makes getting around the city tricky. Taking public transportation saves the stress of finding parking, but it often means a lot of waiting. If you decide to drive a car rental, arrive early in Times Square that morning to find parking.
