If you’re ready to head back to a simpler time, head to Yankee Tavern in the Bronx. Built in 1923 and only one block from Yankee Stadium, this tavern celebrates baseball and beer. Whether you’re a New Yorker or a tourist, visit this old bar and see the baseball spirit of the old days live on!
Decades ago, Yogi Berra, Lou Gehrig, and Babe Ruth frequented Yankee Tavern—especially after a game. This bar has a history of legends. Today you’ll find crowds of fans ready to have a good time before or after the Yankees play.
There’s no confusion about what team this tavern is rooting for. Yankee memorabilia and paraphernalia fill every inch of wall space. You’ll find pictures of all the star players, a beautiful mural of the stadium, an autographed bat and much more. Even better, a game day brings countless excited fans boasting the famous Yankee pinstripe uniform, making the atmosphere electric.
Another benefit of this bar is its reasonably priced, all-encompassing menu. Featuring everything from hot dogs to seafood, it’s a real crowd pleaser. Below is just a smattering of your options:
Whether you’re looking for a fun game-day destination, or just a quintessential Bronx restaurant, the Yankee Tavern is a home run.
