Spring is in the air and, at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, it’s evident. The pink cherry blossoms are blooming, and the exquisite orchid petals are bursting with color. Meanwhile lilacs, rhododendrons, and water lilies are beginning to flourish.
As spring melts into summer, make sure to spend a day at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. This utopia features thirteen unique gardens and several other collections and exhibits. If you’re trying to find the best time to stop by this Brooklyn gem, make sure to view the garden’s blooming schedule. It shows pictures of the flowers that are currently blooming as well as a year-round schedule that explains when certain flowers will bloom.
The Brooklyn Botanic Gardens also offers a guided tour of the gardens, discovery workshops for children, and several special events throughout the year. If you’re interested check the events calendar for specific dates.
The gardens are closed on Mondays, but they’re open Tuesday–Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday–Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free for members. If you’re not a member, adult admission is $10, senior and student admission is $5, and children under the age of 12 are free. Also remember to bring some money for parking.
