Before You Go
Check the aquarium’s Special Events’ Calendar and Daily Events’ Schedule before buying your tickets or getting a

To visit the aquarium when it’s least crowded, the
Long Island Aquarium recommends coming after 1 p.m. on weekdays. However, if you don’t mind a few school groups or other families, then the typical hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily (except for Thanksgiving and Christmas).
When You Arrive
You can park your
van rental in the Long Island Aquarium parking lot (you’ll see plenty of signs), and head right into the main entrance. The aquarium doesn’t have storage areas, so be prepared to either carry your personal items with you or leave them in the
van rental. One of the most popular attractions at the aquarium is the Sea Lion Show. You don’t want to miss it, so be sure to check the show schedule upon arriving, and plan on getting there early. The doors to the show close at specific times and don’t open until after it’s over, so you don’t want to miss out.
