Christmas in NYC: Part 2

Looking for fun, festive things to do leading up to December 25? Empire Rent a Car, New York’s premier car and van rental company, continues its list of Christmas-themed attractions in NYC. (For even more fun holiday events, check out part one of this Christmas series.)

Hot Chocolate at Jacques Torres

Block after city block you can find coffee shops serving hot chocolate. However, the hot chocolate at Jacques may be worth the van rental ride. In fact, Business Insider raves about Jacques Torres’s 100-percent real chocolate drink, calling it the “best hot chocolate in the city.” For all the Jacques Torres New York locations, check out the Jacques Torres website. You can also order some holiday gifts from its online store.

Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting

While you can tune in live from your TV, you have to see the lighting of the New York City Rockefeller Christmas Tree in person at least once in your life. With more than 30,000 lights and a Swarovski crystal star on top, the Rockefeller tree is quite a sight. The lighting is on December 4, 2014 and is free and open to the public. NYCTourist.com reminds visitors to arrive early, dress warmly, and consider taking the subway rather than trying to find parking in your van rental.

NYC Holiday Markets

Fans of craft fairs and artist bazaars can pick from several holiday markets throughout New York City. TimeOut New York has a great list of holiday markets. So take advantage of these unique NYC marketplaces, and pick up some unique holiday gifts for your friends and family. If you need a van rental for your time in New York City, call Empire Rent a Car at 718-353-6848. Empire Rent a Car knows New York City. We can help you make the most of your Christmas season by getting you an affordable and reliable SUV or van rental. photo credit: Apoorva Jinka via photopin cc
